Aircraft Painter
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret appropriate manuals.
- Using appropriate specifications, perform techniques such
as: mechanical and chemical stripping of urethane and epoxy coatings.
- Mask required areas of the aircraft in preparation for
final paint.
- Sand areas to be painted.
- Solvent wash all areas to be painted.
- Blow and tack all areas to be painted.
- Identify and repair damages or flaws on the interior and
exterior of the aircraft.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Maintain good housekeeping habits in the shop and
equipment.
Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities:
- High school education or equivalent.
- Minimum one year experience
- Ability to use hand and power tools such as: Spray guns,
pressure pots, siphon cups, and sanders.
- Working knowledge of painting preparation procedures; mix
and spray lacquers, epoxies and urethanes; touch up.
- Ability to read and understand appropriate manuals,
schematics, and technical information necessary to adequately perform
duties.
- Must be able to perform a variety of mechanical and
physical jobs in a manner consistent with top quality and efficiency.
