Aircraft Painter

  Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret appropriate manuals. 
• Using appropriate specifications, perform techniques such as: mechanical and chemical stripping of urethane and epoxy coatings. 
• Mask required areas of the aircraft in preparation for final paint. 
• Sand areas to be painted. 
• Solvent wash all areas to be painted. 
• Blow and tack all areas to be painted. 
• Identify and repair damages or flaws on the interior and exterior of the aircraft. 
• Other duties as assigned. 
• Maintain good housekeeping habits in the shop and equipment.

  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• High school education or equivalent.
• Minimum one year experience
• Ability to use hand and power tools such as: Spray guns, pressure pots, siphon cups, and sanders.
• Working knowledge of painting preparation procedures; mix and spray lacquers, epoxies and urethanes; touch up.
• Ability to read and understand appropriate manuals, schematics, and technical information necessary to adequately perform duties.
• Must be able to perform a variety of mechanical and physical jobs in a manner consistent with top quality and efficiency.
